AHEAD’s current projects indicate an ambitious and thoughtful year. California deserves no less.
AHEAD’s premiere event is the 2014 Health, Healthcare and Economic Development Conference, May 8 – 9 at Disney Resorts in Anaheim. The conference will explore the impact of healthcare reform and California’s pursuit of the “Triple Aim” in healthcare: improving care, improving health and reducing costs.
AHEAD is also cosponsoring the Unintentional Injury Statewide Strategic Plan Project. One of the components of the strategic plan project is the Unintentional Injury Prevention Conference scheduled for May 14 -15 in Sacramento.
AHEAD is hosting a series of town hall meetings across the state with the director of the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development for clinic, hospital and health facilities leadership, focusing on facilities oversight in rural regions.
AHEAD is partnering with state and local Hispanic leaders and local community groups to increase successful outreach, enrollment, retention and utilization (OERU) of health coverage, and take proven best practices in OERU to reach underserved communities.
AHEAD is supporting the expansion of Mental Health First Aid Training, a groundbreaking, bilingual training program in underserved communities in rural and urban California.
AHEAD is sponsoring a Brain Development Training Project. This accredited program is structured to increase the professional’s understanding of brain development, and how the brain is wired through learning and traumatic experiences. A separate training track is designed for parents, caregivers and the general public.
